Powering World Triathlon’s Digital Rise

World Triathlon is now a Top 15 global federation digitally

Up 15 places in the SportOnSocial International Federations 2026 rankings by RedTourch, the sport has rapidly transformed its digital presence—driven by a clear, content-first strategy delivered in partnership with Deffo Media.

From race coverage to content engine

Since the start of 2024, Deffo Media has worked with World Triathlon to shift the model from event-led coverage to a year-round content ecosystem.

The focus: storytelling, consistency and platform-native formats designed to grow audiences across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram – while opening up key international markets.

The results show strong performance across multiple platforms. On YouTube, the International Federation climbed to #2, gaining 24 positions, while on TikTok it reached #13 with a rise of 15 places. Instagram performance also broke into the top 20 at #19, and there has been rapid growth across Weibo and WeChat, indicating expanding global reach and engagement.

Stories that travel

To unlock new audiences, the strategy moved beyond highlights and into storytelling.

Deffo Media alongside the World Triathlon team led the creation of Dare to Dream – a documentary series putting athletes and human stories at the centre of the sport. Two successful seasons in, with a third in production, it’s become a cornerstone of World Triathlon’s content mix.

At the same time, support across TriathlonLive.tv has helped expand live and on-demand viewing – bringing fans closer to the sport, wherever they are.
